About

The name ‘Nagaharu’ was created by taking the Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese characters 長春, which means ‘Long Spring’. After enduring a cold and long winter, the spring that finally arrives seems to gently pat us on the back, as if to say, “Well done,” showering us with warm sunlight. Under that light, we, cats, trees, and the flowers take a nap. Before the hot summer arrives, the gentle spring breeze melts the snow, makes flowers bloom, and beckons us to take a rest. Spring is sweet, yet short, and because it is short, it can also be brilliant.

You may be going through a time in your life’s journey where you face blizzards, or perhaps you are experiencing the sweltering heat of midsummer, sweating under the hot sun. If you find yourself in need of Spring on your path, Atelier Nagaharu would like to extend your Spring though Art.

Mission

Art is a non-verbal expression that can sometimes convey more than words. Through art, I examine my mind and observe my senses in detail. At the human level, this is the practice of understanding myself and understanding others. We always face challenges and make decisions through aesthetic judgment. Aesthetic experience through art education will develop aesthetic intelligence and instill thoughts about 'emotions' and 'values' that humans should cherish in a rising artificial-intelligence society. Art is the power to think about what will beautify and better the community when our society faces complex problems.
